PACE's primary sensor, the Ocean Color Instrument, is an advanced optical spectrometer that will revolutionize our understanding of the ocean. By measuring light across various wavelengths, the OCI will provide unparalleled insights into the ocean's color and composition. With its high-resolution monitoring capabilities, it will extend ocean color data records and enhance our knowledge of climate studies. The OCI will closely examine the global distribution and abundance of microscopic organisms, allowing for a deeper understanding of the intricate systems that drive ocean ecology.
